by isleofman.com 19th December 2009

The streets of Ramsey will be lit up this evening with the annual lantern parade through the town.

After four lantern-making workshops over the past fortnight, those taking part are raring to go and should meet at the Town Hall car park from five o’clock for a five thirty start.

The parade will make its way along Parliament Street ending at the Courthouse where a carol service led by members of the Mannin Folk.

Eddie O’Sullivan from Faith in Action, which is supporting the event along with Ramsey Commissioners, Ramsey Chamber of Trade, the Arts Council and the Fellowship of Northern Churches, says it will be a real community effort.
