Mephedrone a growing problem says drug charity

The recent response to legal highs is not an overreaction, according to one drug charity worker.

Shelley Stanley of Isle of Man-based DASH says they saw 30 people referred to them because of problems with mephedrone in November alone.

She says the drug - also known as plant food - has a number of worrying side-effects, such as strokes, heart attacks and mental health issues for some people.

Ms Stanley says use of the substance has been building up on the Island for quite a few months now:
