Air travel disruption eases

by isleofman.com 18th December 2009

Christmas holidaymakers had a shock at Ronaldsway this morning (Friday) as London-bound flights were delayed by snow.

The routes affected were those to London City, Gatwick and Luton with the first service to Gatwick cancelled.

Heavy snowfall in the south-east of England overnight meant clearing equipment had to be brought in to open runways, leading to long delays.

Airport Director Ann Reynolds says most services are getting back to normal.
