Arts Funding Decisions to be Taken Quarterly

by isleofman.com 17th December 2009

In 2010, the Isle of Man Arts Council will be changing the basis on which it offers funding to groups and individuals.

The Arts Council currently offers funding under three main schemes, which are designed both to help artists and enable the public to engage with and participate in arts activities.

Bursaries cover groups and individuals travelling to arts events; underwriting is offered for events where the managing organisation managing the event may not be able to cover all costs; and grants are available for events and requirements not covered by either of the above schemes, for instance, the purchase of equipment.

At present, applications for funding are accepted monthly for consideration by the Arts Council.  In 2010, this will change to quarterly periods, marked by Arts Council meetings on 5th March 2010 18th June and 1st October 2010.

Applications must be received two weeks prior to the meeting date for which they are submitted for consideration.

Those who regularly apply to the Arts Council for funding will be contacted in the coming weeks with further information about these changes.

Funding applications for 2010/2011 will be called for on the week commencing 4th January 2010.

If you have any queries about the funding schemes, contact the Arts Council office on 694598 or email iomartscouncil(at)dtl.gov.im
