Abbeylands property burgled

by isleofman.com 16th December 2009

Police are investigating a burglary which happened some time over the weekend in the Abbeylands area.

It's believed a number of people got into the property - a house under renovation - and took numerous pieces of bathroom suite furniture worth thousands of pounds in total.

Some of the main items were an Orlah 6 jet corner bath, three shower units, a number of toilets and basin sinks (mainly in white), three curved chrome heated rails, a 250 litre Megaflo pressurised water cylinder, a black bed frame and a grinder.

It is also thought diesel fuel has been stolen from a digger and a large sized truck parked next to the property.

Due to the amount of furniture taken and the size of some of the items, officers believe more than one person was involved and a large vehicle was used to transport it all away from the property.

The total cost of the stuff taken is around ?4500.

Constable Butler of the Eastern Neighbourhood Policing Team says, "It will have taken some level of planning and time to remove the items from the property and they would then have to be stored somewhere due to their size.

"I urge anyone who may be able to assist police with their enquiries to come forward.

"People can remain anonymous by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111".
