TT 2010 Homestay Scheme Launched

by isleofman.com 16th December 2009

Homestay registration for TT 2010 was launched this week by the Department of Tourism and Leisure.

The Department is inviting anyone interested in the Homestay scheme to register as soon as possible.  Forms have already been sent out to previous participants in the scheme, giving them the opportunity to sign up again.

Homestay can be offered for any number of nights between May 29th and June 12th 2010.  Interested householders are advised to register their property as soon as possible to help meet the ever-increasing demand and enable visitors to secure early bookings.

Tourism and Leisure Minister Hon Martyn Quayle MHK comments, "We are grateful to all those involved  in the Homestay scheme as the feedback we receive is that it is one of the best and most effective ways for TT fans to experience the Island lifestyle and Manx way of life.

"Without Homestay we couldn’t accommodate all those who wish to visit for the TT Races and we know that a home from home feel ensures visitors are able to fully relax and enjoy their holiday.

"We know from previous years that visitors have a memorable, enjoyable stay with their host families and often make such good friends that they return year after year.

"The Department has already had numerous calls regarding accommodation for TT 2010 so demand for accommodation is evident."

For further information or to register for the Homestay Scheme, please contact Pippa Gilbert on (01624) 686802 or e-mail homestay(at)gov.im. Guidance notes relating to the scheme can be found here
