A raft of proposals for the future management of Sulby Claddaghs has attracted a variety of feedback, now available to view on the Isle of Man Government website.

Between July and September 2009, the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry undertook a public consultation exercise over the future management of the popular camping site.

Over 700 public consultation documents were distributed Island-wide, covering a raft of proposals for improving control of the Claddaghs.

A total of 99 responses were received, representing a diverse range of opinions. A summary of this feedback from the public, Local Authorities and other interest groups is now available on the Department’s website

Chairman of the Forestry Division, Brenda Cannell MHK said, "The Department is most grateful to those who have responded to the Sulby Claddagh consultation.

"Once again, I have been impressed by the diverse range of opinion and strength of feeling held for the Claddaghs.

"This feedback is proving to be most helpful to the Department as it continues to investigate a best way forward for managing this popular site."

Further information can be obtained here, from the Forestry Division Office at St. Johns (801263) or at Rose House, 51-59 Circular Road, Douglas.
