Future of Bowl still uncertain

The possibility of The Bowl being "mothballed" emerged in Tynwald this morning.

At the start of the month, Douglas Corporation voted 10-6 to pull out from spending ?1.7 million as its share in a joint redevelopment scheme with the Isle of Man Government.

The venue was to host the rugby sevens tournament at the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games.

Douglas North MHK Bill Henderson asked Department of Local Government and the Environment member Juan Watterson about Douglas Corporation's plans to repair parts of the stadium in the light of health and safety issues:-
