by isleofman.com 12th December 2009

A Douglas pub is open for business as usual despite a fire in its basement on Friday night.

Firemen were called to C'est La Vie in Victoria Street just after 9pm and put out a blaze in the boiler room of the property using a carbon dioxide extinguisher.

Smoke caused damage to the basement area and there was severe damage to the electrical intake in the boiler room.

Two positive ventilation fans were used to clear the property of smoke and firemen were in attendance until 10.30pm.

No one was injured in the incident.
