There could be spectacular sights in the night skies this weekend.
It's the peak period for one of the best meteor showers of the year.
The Geminids, so called because they appear to originate from the area of the sky where you find the constellation Gemini, could show some fantastic meteors with tails and sparks if the skies stay clear.
The best time to watch is late night to early morning when Gemini is high in the sky but meteors - small chunks of rock burning up high in the earth's atmosphere - could be seen at any time after dark.
