Campaign aims to keep party venues safe

Police are warning party-goers they will prosecute anyone found committing an offence inside or outside the Island's pubs and clubs.

This weekend is traditionally the busiest for Christmas parties and police warn they will take a hard line with those who step over the line and spoil the festivities for others.

The campaign will focus on disorder, drunkenness, assaults and criminal damage in or around licensed premises.

Those charged will be taken to court and may be banned from licensed premises for the rest of the holiday season.

Sergeant Stephen Maddocks from the police Central Alcohol Unit says the aim is to keep the Island's party venues safe:
