Church packed for funeral service

by isleofman.com 11th December 2009

Family, friends and colleagues have paid their last respects to well-known Santon woman Dru Hamm.

Broadway Baptist Church was packed for the funeral of the 38-year-old, who was tragically killed in a road accident last month.

During the service, her mother Cherry and friends from all walks of life led the tributes to a woman described as an 'inspiration' who overcame her disability to live life to the full.

Dru was born with cerebral palsy and her determination won public admiration earlier this year, when she reached Santon in the Parish Walk.

She was a chartered accountant and worked tirelessly for a number of charities.
