Anybody who wants to get into a festive mood could head along to the Salvation Army Citadel in Lord Street, Douglas at 1.30 this afternoon.
The lunchtime community choir, formed two months ago, is performing its first concert, with lively African music, a gentle sacred work by Schubert, pop arrangements and seasonal pieces.
There is no entry charge, but there will be a retiring collection for the Salvation Army.
The conductor is the head of the Island's music service, Maggie Richardson.
