Tourism Minister Martyn Quayle says it's more important than ever to publicise what tourism in the Isle of Man has to offer.
The Council of Ministers has approved a ?750,000 advertising budget which will allow the DTL to continue advertising the Island on television.
At his department's annual tourism awards yesterday, Mr Quayle said people were looking for holidays closer to home because of the economic downturn.
He added that failure to advertise now would cost the Island:
