Police are appealing for a taxi driver to come forward after an assault in Douglas last week.

The cabbie picked up a couple from Loch Promenade between G&D's Nightclub and Aperitivo at around 3am on Thursday.

Officers say he may have information about an assault which happened after the man and woman got out of the taxi near the Ascot Hotel on Palace Drive.

Any taxi drivers working around that time who picked up a man of medium build wearing a smart jacket and a heavy-set female wearing a dark coloured top have been asked to contact police headquarters on 631212.
