Keirron, Keith and the Andersons are set to return to people's TV screens, as the Department of Tourism and Leisure announces its plan to re-run their successful commercial campaign in 2010.
The promotional funding has been approved by the Council of Ministers, Treasury and the Marketing Initiatives Group, and it is hoped that the second outing for the advertisements will build on the success of the 2008/2009 campaign.
The campaign will include cinema advertising during Manx-made movie Me and Orson Welles, which is currently being shown in UK cinemas.
The campaign aims to reflect the Island’s laid-back lifestyle and position it as a place where visitors are free to enjoy a host of outdoor activities; it was conceived to chime with the Island’s 'Freedom to Flourish' branding strategy.
As in the previous campaign, the three adverts, focussing on adventure, lifestyle and nature, will feature local residents at various locations around the Island.
Tourism and Leisure Minister Martyn Quayle MHK said, "The Department of Tourism and Leisure aims to achieve the maximum publicity with a relatively small advertising budget.
"We are aware that television advertising has a powerful impact and I’m pleased that approval has been given to support the TV campaign again this year.
"In the current climate, where we are competing with other holiday destinations, it is important that we continue to raise the Isle of Man’s profile as a quality holiday destination to support the tourism industry and bring economic benefit to the Island."
It is hoped that the award-winning commercials, produced by the Department’s advertising agency Truly, will compliment the Department of Tourism and Leisure’s current advertising activity.
