Serious Collision Near Castletown Bypass

Police are appealing for information following a serious collision which occurred today (Thursday 10th December) at approximately 12.55pm on Ballakaighen Road, near the Castletown Bypass.  

 

Two vehicles were involved: a blue Peugeot 106 and a silver Nissan Terrano.     

 

The elderly female driver of the Peugeot was thrown out of her vehicle following the collision and was taken to hospital by ambulance.  Details of her condition have not yet been released. 

 

The male driver of the Nissan vehicle was treated at the scene by paramedics but his injuries are not believed to be serious.

 

Police are appealing for anybody who may have been in the Castletown Bypass area at the time of the collision and who may have any information to contact them.

 

The road between the junctions at the Castletown Bypass and Malew Road at the traffic light are now open to traffic.
