New uses for old building - residents speak

A cinema or a bowling alley seem to be top of Ramsey residents' wishlists for redevelopment of the old swimming pool building.

The town's new pool opened in January this year, having been built over a period of 18 months at a cost of ?6 million.

However, the old pool building, which occupies a prime site overlooking the coast on Queen's Promenade, has now been standing unused for nearly a year.

Since it closed last December, a number of businesses and organisations have expressed an interest in the building, but so far there has been no progress.
