Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in the capital.
It happened just after 9pm on Sunday, opposite the shops on Prospect Terrace, when a 40-year-old Douglas man was attacked by another man as he walked towards Bucks Road.
He was reportedly kicked and punched to the ground and verbally threatened, before two women who were passing by intervened and the attacker left the area.
The assailant is described as being around six feet tall, of stocky build and with a Northern Irish accent.
Police believe the victim was known to his attacker who had specifically targeted him.
The man wasn't seriously injured.
Officers are praising the actions of the women and would like to speak to them or anyone else who has information.
The number to ring is Lord Street police station on 631427.
