Alleged drug importers sent to higher court

Three men charged with drugs offences have been committed to a Court of General Gaol by High Bailiff Michael Moyle.

Twenty-five-year-old Christopher Ackers from Aintree; 23-year-old Andrew James Cavendish, of Lhon Dhoo Close in Onchan; and Matthew William Raymond Teare, aged 26, of Creggan's Avenue in Peel, are accused of importing cocaine and cannabis resin and possessing the drugs with intent to supply.

The offences were allegedly committed on September 3 this year.

Cavendish and Ackers were remanded in custody and Teare was released on bail.

Reporting restrictions were not lifted.
