The Manx government is to underwrite health cover for those travelling over to the Island for a conference next spring.
Despite the reciprocal health agreement ending at the end of March, anyone who falls ill at the CAMRA members' weekend – to be held at the Villa Marina in mid-April – will have their medical treatment paid for.
The national gathering of the Campaign for Real Ale group is expected to attract around 1000 visitors.
Health Minister Eddie Teare says planning for the event started before the ending of the reciprocal agreement was finalised.
