The human rights campaign group Amnesty International is asking the Manx public to send a simple message of hope to prisoners of conscience this Christmas.
The charity's Island branch has launched its 2009 greetings card campaign at the Strand Shopping Centre in Douglas today (Wednesday).
Amnesty says sending a card to individuals held captive by repressive regimes, really can make a difference.
Its campaign to bombard authorities around the world has led to prisoners of conscience being released.
Amnesty International's Island chairman Cyril Rogers says those suffering injustice need to know the outside world has not forgotten them.
