ManxSki, the Ski-chalet operation run by Chris and Vanessa Callow in the French Alps, is to extend into the summer season in 2010.
The Callows see their new summer operation as a natural extension of the business, having steadily built up a following on and off the Island, with over 60% of visitors returning for two or more visits in their initial two seasons.
For their active clients, the Alps in summer offer numerous adventurous activities including mountain-biking, caving, white-water rafting and canyoning, as well as gentler walking or merely enjoying the scenery.
Followers of the Tour de France will find the chalet a perfect base to follow the mountain stages in July.
In tandem with the summer launch, Chris and Vanessa have forged three exciting new partnerships: Steam Packet Holidays' inclusive ManxSki packages will open up the Alps to Manx motorists, while Isle of Man Bank Gold-Card holders and Manx Graduate members will enjoy special prices on ManxSki holidays.
"We use the Steam Packet at least twice a year, " explains Chris. "The option to fill the car with luggage will appeal particularly to families, but don't forget to leave room for some wine on the way home!"
Welcoming the link with the Government–sponsored Manx Graduate site, Vanessa comments, "We're very pleased to be associated with this worthwhile initiative. Our students are our future and we look forward to welcoming them to Les Carroz.
"Last year, a party from Leeds Carnegie filled our self-catering apartments to capacity and this year they're coming back for more."
Another exciting venture will see renowned French Chef Herve Willems from Edinburgh School of Food & Wine holding cookery courses in June and September 2010, making delicious French Cuisine available to all.
Herve, who is looking forward to working with former pupil Chris, explains, "I'll be offering classic dishes with a modern twist that you can reproduce at home."
