Minister questioned on GP survey

by isleofman.com 9th December 2009

Nine thousand Isle of Man residents have given their views in a survey assessing patient satisfaction with their GPs, but the detailed findings won't be made public.

Responding to a House of Keys question from Rushen MHK Juan Watterson, Health Minister Eddie Teare confirmed the results of this year's study would remain confidential.

However, the outcome of the 2010 survey will be published, when there will be two years' worth of data for comparison.

Mr Teare also assured members the exercise represented value for money in financially straitened times, as the pay of General Practioners was linked to their performance in the survey.
