Mobile phone offences revealed

Two hundred and forty four motorists have been convicted for using mobile phones while driving in the Isle of Man over the past three years.

A further 52 were cautioned.

The figures were outlined in the House of Keys by Home Affairs Minister Adrian Earnshaw who is vowing to continue enforcement to change the attitudes of drivers.

However, he told members there was no comparison between the number of accidents related to the offence and drink driving:
