Council planning Bowl repairs

The Bowl in Douglas is being earmarked for work by the Borough Council, despite the local authority pulling out of a joint refurbishment project with the government.

Council leader David Christian says the site is in a poor state of repair, but it was thought the ?3.4 million revamp would solve most of the problems at the stadium, so little money has been been spent recently on repairs.

He says now the corporation has decided against spending the huge amounts of cash on a full refurbishment, work will be carried out to make improvements.

However, it won’t be on anything like the scale of the original proposals:
