Garden clampdown continues

Tenants of local authority houses in Douglas are again being warned they could end up in court, or even evicted, if they don't keep their gardens tidy and free from rubbish.

Last month, three people were issued with warnings, following visits from the housing inspector.

Two of them did the work required themselves, and in the third case the tenant paid the bill after corporation staff cleaned up the mess.

Housing Committee member David Ashford says there are plenty of chances to comply, but tenants who don't play ball will face the consequences:
