Hemmings to sell iconic tower?

One of the United Kingdom's best known landmarks could undergo a transformation, if an Isle of Man-based businessman sells it to the local council.

Blackpool Tower is currently owned by Leisure Parks, one of the business interests of Island entrepreneur Trevor Hemmings.

But, after a report into regenerating the town, Blackpool Council is understood to have offered ?40 million for the iconic structure and some of the other well known buildings belonging to Mr Hemmings.
