Moore and Webster on fire

by isleofman.com 5th December 2009

It’s all change at the top and bottom of the men’s hockey Premier League.

Bacchas A have moved to the summit after a 12-1 demolition of Castletown A.

A superb six goal haul from Karl Moore earned the plaudits.

A hat-trick from Dave Kneale, a double from Richard Le Page and one from Jamie Cox meant Paul Kelly’s goal was a mere consolation.

And Vikings A have slipped from the top after going down in the game of the day against title rivals Valkyrs A who recorded a 4-3 success.

Ollie Webster was the Valkyrs’ hero with all four of his side’s goals.

Andy Harding, Steve Crowe and Gerry Quinn netted for Vikings.

Valkyrs B are off the bottom after they overcame a half-time deficit to see off Bacchas B 4-2.

A hat-trick from Jonah Hull and one from Steven Lowe sealed their first victory of the season.

And it got worse for Bacchas B who are now bottom themselves after Harlequins emerged 3-1 winners over Vikings B, courtesy of goals from Tony Mansell, Peter Nuttall and Peter Godwin.

Christian Forbes struck for Vikings B.

In the women’s Premier League, reigning champions Vikings hit Bacchas A for six.

Doubles from Kirsty Hunt and Kim Carney, plus one apiece from Zoe Carney and Hayley Crowe, ensured a 6-1 success for the champions.

Carly Craig scored the Bacchas’ consolation.

Valkyrs A were 3-1 winners over Ramsey A, thanks to goals from Andrea Kneen, Emma Faulkner and Amy Speed.
