Vagas ease relegation worries

by isleofman.com 5th December 2009

Vagabonds secured only their third win of the season on Saturday – but it could be crucial as they bid to stay in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One.

A 10-8 home victory over Sale eased their relegation worries.

And there much relief amongst home players and supporters after Sale scored a last minute try but then missed the conversion which would have earned them a draw.

Douglas went down 26-7 at Liverpool Collegiate in Division Two - Chris Breen notching their points.

In the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield, Castletown saw off the challenge of Ramsey B 16-10 with Gary Stephenson and Nic Kieswetter among their scorers.

Lewis Porter and Fintan Cummins were on target for Ramsey.

Vagabonds B won 12-7 at Emerging Nomads although, due to a lack of official referee, it’s unclear whether that result will stand.
