Surprise donation to council funds

Ratepayers in the Island's capital are to benefit from an unusual bequest, from a man in Edinburgh.

Before he died, Eric Gordon Douglas looked through an atlas and arranged to leave an equal share of around ?220,000 to each of the 20 places he found which shared his surname!
