Making waves in Strand Street!

by isleofman.com 5th December 2009

There's another chance to show your support for action on climate change later today.

Following last night's silent vigil, the One World Centre and Isle of Man Friends of the Earth are coming together to show Manx support for the Wave, Britain's biggest ever march on the matter.

Anybody interested is invited to join the groups in Strand Street between 2pm and 4pm, dressed in something blue.

There will be music from Samba Mann and Manx musicians, and a giant Mexican wave down the street will be filmed at 3pm.

One World Centre and Friends of the Earth members will be talking to the public about the 10:10 campaign to reduce CO2 emissions by 10 per cent in 2010, and explaining how to sign up for the cause.

The Wave, organised by the Stop Climate Chaos Coalition, is happening the weekend before the start of the Copenhagen summit, where governments from around the world are meeting to decide on a new climate change agreement.
