The principal of King William’s College has resigned, just 15 months after taking up the post.
Dr Sarah Welch will officially leave on December the 31st, citing personal reasons.
Dr Welch joined the college in September last year as successor to Philip John.
She went on leave a fortnight ago, again for personal reasons.
A statement issued this afternoon (Friday) by the chairman of school governors says the recent changes to her family situation means she wishes to pursue her career elsewhere.
It goes on to say she has enjoyed working at King William’s and wishes everyone there future success.
The school's senior management team has taken over the running of the school and a new principal will be appointed in due course.
