by isleofman.com 3rd December 2009

A local fisherman who had to be air-lifted from his vessel by helicopter at the weekend has died.

Seventy-one-year-old Edward Norman Sansbury of Port Erin was picked up after a Mayday call was sent out.

A Sea King helicopter was scrambled from RAF Valley and Mr Sansbury was winched from the boat and taken to Noble's Hospital, where he later passed away.

It's believed he suffered a heart attack.
