Isle of Man to Feature on BBC's Culture Show

The Isle of Man's film industry will be in the media spotlight this evening (Thursday 3rd December) as BBC2's The Culture Show covers the release of Richard Linklater's Me and Orson Welles.

 

Presenter and critic Mark Kermode attended the Manx premiere, which took place on 21st November at the Gaiety Theatre.

 

Much of the film was shot in the Gaiety, which doubled as New York's Mercury Theatre.

 

The Culture Show will feature exclusive interviews with director Richard Linklater and actor Christian McKay, whose portrayal of Orson Welles has already won widespread acclaimm, as well as footage from the pre-screening reception, which was held in the Villa Marina Arcade.

 

There will also be an overview of the Isle of Man fim industry and a visit to the set of Albatross, the latest feature to be filmed locally.
 

The coverage was organised in conjunction with the Department of Tourism and Leisure and Isle of Man Film.

 

The Culture Show will on BBC2 at 7pm.
