A Ramsey-based firm will give away ?150,000 this evening.

AFD software is holding its annual charity night at Ramsey Town Hall.

The company works to a core objective 'to generate profits and use them creatively in the relief of suffering, the improvement of society and the furtherance of the Christian gospel'.

Earlier this year it donated ?1 million to buy a Kodiak 100 Bush aircraft to carry out humanitarian and relief missions in Kalimantan, part of Borneo in Indonesia.

This evening the money will be divided between 49 charities, including a major donation to Hope for Justice, which helps victims of human trafficking in Britain.

Managing director of AFD David Dorricott says it's a hidden but very real problem (play audio file):

The charity night at Ramsey Town Hall gets under way at 7pm.
