The swine flu vaccination programme will move into another phase next week.
Island residents in what are termed 'clinical at risk' groups, are being advised to book an appointment with their GP, with a view to receiving the jab from next Monday.
The system which has been adopted by the DHSS will require people who believe they qualify for the vaccine to make the call, rather than health authorities ringing them.
This will help get the vaccination programme under way as quickly as possible.
As far as the H1N1 swine flu vaccination is concerned, the 'clinical at risk' groups include people with chronic diseases relating to the lungs, heart, liver and kidney.
Also included are those with chronic neurological diseases, diabetes and immunosuppression, caused by disease or treatment for a disease, such as cancer.
The list of categories extends to people living with immunocompromised individuals.
The final category is people aged 65 and over in the seasonal flu 'at risk' groups.
