Malarkeys says 'no' to Bowl scheme

Husband and wife politicians Bill and Carol Malarkey have come down firmly against the redevelopment of the Bowl, at a total cost of ?3.4 million.

Mrs Malarkey was one of ten councillors to vote against committing ?1.7 million of ratepayers' money to the scheme, at yesterday's private meeting.

And her husband Bill, an MHK for South Douglas where the Bowl is situated, agrees that Douglas ratepayers shouldn't have to pay so much towards what would be an all-Island facility:
