by isleofman.com 30th November 2009

A 31-year-old teacher charged with two counts of attempting to engage in sexual activity in the presence of a child has made a further appearance in court.

James Barefield of Kirk Michael was arrested and charged last month.

No pleas have been entered and Mr Barefield has been bailed with a number of conditions, one of which prevents him from returning to the Isle of Man.

He will appear again at Southwark Crown Court on December 16.

Mr Barefield is head of the English department at QEII High School in Peel.
