Launch of carbon cuts challenge

by isleofman.com 30th November 2009

Is Tynwald up to the 10:10 challenge?

Isle of Man Friends of the Earth has laid down the gauntlet and challenged members to sign up to ten per cent carbon cuts across the Manx Government estate next year.

It follows a motion from Environment Minister John Shimmin in Tynwald a fortnight ago, which pledged just that.

Now the environmental pressure group has asked all MHKs and MLCs to make a personal pledge to cut their CO2 use by ten per cent in 2010.

Friends of the Earth campaigner ffinlo Costain is speaking live on the '10:10 challenge' on this morning's Mandate, between 8am and 8.30am.
