'X-Factor' style talent show tonight

by isleofman.com 30th November 2009

A huge talent show for school children in the Isle of Man is taking place in Douglas this evening.

Over 100 groups of pupils from the Island's primary and secondary schools are to tread the boards at Kensington Road Youth Centre, for the first Youth Got Talent contest.

Following the pattern established by X-Factor and similar TV competitions, children will show off their singing and dancing skills to a panel of judges, with the winners hoping for a place at show to be held at the Gaiety Theatre.

Organiser Ken Callister is sure it won't be plain sailing for the contestants (play audio file):

Anyone wishing to attend the show is asked to contact the Youth Service on 686057.
