The Isle of Man Constabulary's Southern Policing team is appealing for information following a dog attack on lambs at Langness.
The attack has left three lambs injured, with two needing medical treatment. It is believed that the attack took place sometime between Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th November (today).
The lambs were grazing in a secure field next to Langness lighthouse and the Police believe that the dog owner may have facilitated the attack.
PC Higson from the Southern Policing team comments, "I cannot believe that anyone would let their dogs worry and attack lambs like this.
"The field in which the sheep were grazing was secure; someone must have opened the gate or lifted their dogs over the fencing to get at the lambs.
"What kind of person would allow this to happen?"
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to come forward and contact Police Headquarters on 631212. A reward may be payable as a result of any information given.
The land in question is owned by Mr Jeremy Clarkson of Langness lighthouse cottages but rented out to a local farmer.
This is not the first instance where Langness Peninsula has been a trouble spot for dog attacks on sheep.
The decision by Mr Clarkson to close off a section of land previously used by walkers, which subsequently precipitated a public inquiry, was partly prompted by an incident where dog owners had allegedly allowed their dogs to harry sheep to their deaths in the sea.
