Anglers make most of winter season

by isleofman.com 25th November 2009

Records were broken during last winter's fishing season and it's hoped this year will be no different.

More than 100 anglers took up licences for the extended season and one lucky cast landed a 20 pound rainbow trout setting a Manx benchmark.

Additional reservoirs have been opened up for this year in anticipation of increased demand.

DAFF Minister Phil Gawne says the scheme is the result of the department listening to the wishes of the fishing community.
