Brown answers civil servants' pay question

It has been confirmed in the House of Keys that none of the Island's civil servants receives performance related pay.

The chief minister was asked the question by North Douglas MHK Bill Henderson, who wanted to know if such bonuses for senior members of staff would be linked with savings which could be made following the redrawing of the VAT revenue sharing agreement.

It was recently revealed that staff at the Ministry of Defence in the United Kingdom had received performance related payments totalling up to ?47 million.
