A 56-year-old man who had over 25,000 child porn images on his computer has been jailed for a total of 15 months by Deemster Doyle.
David Deverau, of Lheannag Park, Douglas, admitted nine counts of possessing indecent images and three of distributing them.
The prosecution said the offences came to light after Deverau sent his computer for repair.
Following his arrest his home was searched, where the images were found, along with 265 video clips.
Deverau told officers he had a fascination with young girls.
His advocate told the court Deverau needed help and was prepared to accept it.
He urged for a suspended sentence to be considered, adding Deverau had no previous convictions and found it difficult to form relationships.
Deemster Doyle said there were no grounds for suspending the prison sentence, adding that the message had to go out that those who committed such serious offences would go straight to prison.
