by isleofman.com 24th November 2009

Work is scheduled to start on Monday 30th November to resurface the section of Governor’s Road from Governor’s Bridge to Onchan Roundabout.

The work is expected to be completed by Friday 18th December at the latest and a temporary speed limit of 20mph will be in force on that stretch of road while the work is ongoing.

Director of Highways Bruce Hannay said, "Work will start each day after the morning peak traffic time, after which traffic management will be carried out via temporary traffic signals.

"The scheme will involve three-way signals on the junctions at Onchan Roundabout, Wybourne Drive and Blackberry Lane, as work takes place past these junctions.

Mr Hannay added, "Pedestrian access will be maintained to all properties during the works, but there may be times when it is not possible to maintain vehicle access to properties.

"If this is the case, the Department will endeavour to ensure access is restored as soon as possible."
