Manannan Welcomes Aboard Rotary Club

by isleofman.com 24th November 2009

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company’s new vessel Manannan has played host to the oldest and largest of the Island’s Rotary Clubs.

Douglas Rotary Club members, who play an active and important part in community life, were given a special tour of the vessel.

Chairman of the club’s House and Fellowship Committee Sharon Kissack said, "A visit to the Manannan Fast Craft was suggested as a number of members are very interested in boats and the sea, and the Club is very aware of the vital role which the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company plays in the wider economic life of the Island.

"The arrival of a new addition to the Steam Packet Company fleet has always been an occasion of great interest to Manx people and the Manannan's arrival has been particularly anticipated by many.

Director of Marketing & Communications David Findlay and his team were very helpful and gave a tour that the members found very informative and enjoyable."

Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Chief Executive Mark Woodward said, "I am delighted with the success of the visit and the huge amount of interest our new vessel has generated within the community."
