Former MHK and MLC Ray Kniveton has returned to politics.
He has been elected unopposed to Onchan Commissioners, where he began his political career 21 years ago.
Mr Kniveton, who retired as an MLC in 2005, was one of two candidates to come forward when nominations closed last Thursday.
However, the other candidate has withdrawn, leaving Mr Kniveton to take over the seat vacated by Steve Babb last month.
He will serve until April 2012.
