Ice skating officially comes to Douglas today, with a VIP launch of the Sure Skate ice rink.

Based in a huge marquee in the grounds of the Villa Marina, the rink will open to the public from tomorrow for six weeks over Christmas and the New Year.

It measures 18 by 30 metres, holds about 70,000 litres of water, and has a capacity for 200 skaters.
