Closer monitoring of imported cattle is helping to prevent the spread of bovine tuberculosis on the Isle of Man.
The disease is a big problem for herdsmen in the United Kingdom and cows with the infection have to be destroyed leading to the slaughter of herds which may have taken generations to build up.
It is a frightening prospect for farmers, and the Department of Agriculture is taking the threat seriously.
Imported cattle are one of the major sources of infection, and Agriculture Minister Phil Gawne says a program to examine cows brought into the Island has had some success:
